It IS Worth It!

There are so many things that happen with my kids on a daily basis that make me stop and think, "now this makes it all worth it."  If I was working outside the home, there are so many things that I would have missed. This page is dedicated to those "things" that happen on a daily basis to remind me that WORKING in the home is okay (for now).
So lets get started....

1. My youngest son is working on potty training and I GET to be home to see it!! He will be two next month and he is pretty consistent about going on the potty at least once (maybe twice) a day! When I was a career women, my oldest was pretty much potty trained by his daycare. She did most of the leg work and we just continued on nights and weekends. He also wasn't trained until he was about 3. Now I can catch my two year-old and have TIME to sit with him he he says he has to go!

2.  Lots of snuggle time. One of the most favorite/special things that Isaiah and I do is to cuddle on the couch with his sippy cup and blanket if he gets hurt. He insists that I have the TV on. If it is off he has to find the remote ("mote") before he sits with me.  This cuddle time happens at least once a day, often multiple times a day.

3. I get to watch as my two boys interact, play and be silly with each other. They get along so well, it warms my heart to hear the giggles throughout the house when they are playing.

4. Kids say the funniest things!  When I scold Isaiah (my 2 year-old) I usually use his middle name (David).  This morning he was at the table playing. He spilled some of the markers out of the container and said (with a gruff voice)....."Awwwwww, David!"  He was scolding himself even though this is not something I would get upset over... :) Being home with my kids means I get to hear these precious little comments everyday! :)

5. Be a stay at home mom means I don't have to frantically look for misplaced shoes, keys or my kids' toothbrushes during the morning rush to get out the door! I can take my time, get to search and find all the things that mysteriously go missing (usually it is Isaiah who likes to bury these things in unlikely places throughout the house.

6. Isaiah just turned two and he goes on the potty once or sometimes twice a day. We aren't pushing it but let him go when he wants as we know he is early and don't want him to get disinterested so we don't push him. But, as I was putting him to bed tonight he said he had to go potty. Now this time I knew it was a stall tactic...but we went anyway. After I sat him on the potty, he looks down at his "wee-wee" picks it up to look at it and says "ohhhh sleeping."  I lost it and was laughing so hard and he looks at me so serious and say "what?" Almost like why are you laughing!!
